Don’t laugh at me

Because I know that I am fat

When you taunt me everyday what do you get out of that?

Don’t laugh at me

Now you’ve gone too far

Pushing me off the bridge knowing I can’t swim at all

Don’t laugh at me

Look at what you’ve done to me

Now I’m dead I couldn’t breathe in the deep blue sea

Don’t laugh at me

I can’t believe I’m talking to fish

They also brought me back to life which was my only wish

Don’t laugh at me

Now I’m out for revenge

You laugh at me again I’ll let you know what it is

Now I’m laughing at you

Look what you made me do

Now you’re lifeless....All because you laughed at me

Senoj The Monster

Senoj was a young kid who went to Calloway. He was a sweet, quiet kid who rarely talked to anyone if he didn’t have to. This is what made kids bully and pick on him. One day his class took a field trip to a lake near by. Senoj sat by the lake by himself. A couple of the kids thought it would be funny to push him in the water. Everyone crowds around him. Out of nowhere one of the bigger boys push him in the water.He started to drown immediately. Someone says help him but no one helps. All of the kids go back to the field trip area. As the kids get on the bus the teacher asks has anyone seen Senoj. No one answers. Then a girl says he didn’t come to school today and they leave. Senoj’s body washes up in a grassy field on side of the lake. An old man finds the boy and takes him home. The man specializes in black magic and uses it to find out how the boy died. He casts a spell that brought the boy back a terrible cost. When the boy is brought to life he is surrounded by magical fish. These fish help him track down and kill his attackers.

Reflections for King Lear: No Fear

Scene 2:
 I feel as though Edmund, the illegitimate son of Gloucester is very decieving. He cannot inheritance his father’s estate by blood, so he is going to get it by being wicked and evil. The plan he has came up with will destroy Gloucester and Edgar’s relationship. Edmund believes it is stupid that his parents believe it is the stars and the moon fault he was born.

Scene 3:
Scene 3 Act I was a very short scene. King Lear’s cruel daughter, Goneril is offended by her father’s actions to her attendant. She wants all her workers to be mean towards the King and all his workers. Goneril is tired of her father always wanting control. She has a plan up sleeve and intends on telling her sister.

Psalm 91

     Psalm 91 talks about believing in God and putting God first. When one puts God first He will protect he or she from evil. God is always someone one can trust and rely on, He will keep the evil out. When one puts God as their number one they will not have to be paranoid about the evil that surrounds them in the world. When having faith in God one will know that He is always watching over you protecting so therefore they don’t fear any of the evil going around in the world. Accepting God will overcome all evil.
        In Psalm 91 their are also numerous symbolism being showed. For example, line 4 says “ He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust”, in this line the words feathers and wings are an example of symbolism. God putting one under his wings keeps us safe from the storm or otherwise the evil. Another example of symbolism is in line 13 where it states,” Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet”, the lion and the dragon could be meaning something evil or in other words the devil. The theme of this psalm is when one shows God that they believe in Him and He is in their heart they will receive blessings and be protected.

Infant Joy vs Infant Sorrow

   The two poems Infant Joy and Infant Sorrow are different in many ways. In the poem Infant Joy it focuses on the joy of a 2 day old infant. It also focuses on the happiness and love of the new born baby entering the world. It shows the youth and purity a newborn baby has when he or she enters the world. The Infant Joy has the mother’s point of view while as Infant Sorrow just has the baby’s point of view. In the poem Infant Sorrow it talks about an innocent baby entering a world of sin, not knowing what to expect. While Infant Joy has a positive perspective of the infant being born and Infant Sorrow has a negative perspective of the infant being born.
   Their are many ways these two poems are also alike. They both talk about the birth of an infant. Both poems have the infants point of view. I also see imagery being used in both of the poems.

Reader Profile

My strengths in reading prose and poetry is being able to read the poem in a good amount of time and  noticing rhetorical strategies. My weaknesses in reading prose and poetry is being able to comprehend the message behind the poem. The purpose reading serves for me is building my vocabulary and helping me read at a faster pace.  My passions of reading is to gain more knowledge and background. My peeves of reading are reading a non interesting book that I cannot seem to comprehend.

Reflection A Worn Path

  The story A Worn Path is a very motivating story. She goes through a lot of obstacles, but still does not give up.  She is a old woman named Phoenix who walks a long journey. That is how one can tell she is motivated and will not give up. She went through obstacles such as being attacked by a black dog. She still got up and continued her journey after being attacked. Even though a white man she met along the way teased her.
   She walked all the way to her destination and go the medicine for her grandson. Although, the nurses say know it may not cure him, they still give the old woman faith.  She is determined to make her grandson feel better from the lye poison he has. It was also Christmas time during the story.  Phoenix also went out her way to get her grandson a Christmas gift. This story teaches me alot about never giving up .

Reflection The Rockpile

  The story The Rockpile has numerous themes in it. The story is taken place in Harlem, New York. The family that is presented in this book stays in a bad community. The Rockpile is place where a group of kids come and fight and play recklessly. The parents made a good decision of making The Rockpile restricted to the kids. John was skeptical about The Rockpile, while John was anxious and wanted to play with the other kids on The Rockpile.
  John warned his little brother about going out there to The Rockpile, but Roy being the headstrong person he is overlooked his brother’s warning.  Due to this Roy ended up getting hurt. The family is worried about Gabriel finding out. When he does find out he blames John for it, but it isn’t John’s fault. He isn’t Roy parent he can only make his little brother due so much. John gets treated by Gabriel for not being his biological son. For a man to do this is very cruel, you should not treated him  any different from the kids that are biological yours.

Refletion of A Lesson Before Dying

    In the last few chapters in the book A Lesson Before Dying it was very depressing and devastating. In the last chapters Grant and Jefferson grew closer and closer. The effect of them growing closer and closer made the readers also grow closer to Jefferson. In chapter 29, it was put into Jefferson’s point if view. This also made us grow closer to Jefferson seeing how he felt and what he thought. It made the readers also feel what Jefferson felt. Although we do not know if he was innocent or not , but we do know he did not die as a hog but instead as a man. Jefferson accepted the fact and stood up for the community.
      Jefferson’s death put me in tears as reading it. The community also showed their respect for Jefferson through the quietness that was going on in the town. The community was also devastated about his death. Although Grant could not bear to see the death of Jefferson, I felt as though he should have still been there.  When Grant reads Jefferson diary I know he will be very proud of Jefferson. Jefferson’s death made Grant realize a lot. It made Grant become a better person.

Blog Assignment for A Lesson Before Dying

Dear Grant,


               The Advice Columnist is very disappointed to hear about the tough situation you have been put in.  We will give you some ways to stop you from being lost.  Firstly, since he has been giving you attitude we hope you ignore his acrimony and continue to try to help.  Do not let his attitude make you want to give up on him. Once he see that you is determined to help him and is headstrong he will eventually break. Secondly, tell him that it is very unhealthy to starve yourself.  You should also tell him that you cannot teach him while he has an empty stomach. Lastly, he may not be paying attention to anything you are trying to teach him because, he has something on his mind that is distracting him and stopping him from wanting to learn. So while teaching him you should use a strategy to catch his attention that will make him want to listen. We hope these approaches can assist you in your situation. Also remember do not let his inflexible attitude stop you from wanting to teach him, be determined.
